Who We Are

BestToolHub (referred to as "we", "us", or "our") operates the website at besttoolhub.in. We provide free online tools for PDF processing, image compression, QR code generation, and text analysis. If you have privacy questions, contact us at hello@besttoolhub.in.

Information We Collect

Files You Upload

When you use a server-side tool (merge, split, compress, convert), your file is uploaded over HTTPS to our server, processed immediately, and permanently deleted the moment the output is sent back to your browser. We never open, read, index, analyse, or store the contents of your files. Our staff cannot access your files even if they wanted to — the deletion is automatic and irreversible.

Client-Side Processing (No Upload)

The following tools run entirely in your browser. Your data never reaches our servers:

  • QR Code Generator — URLs, text, phone numbers, emails, and Wi-Fi passwords are processed locally using JavaScript.
  • Word Counter — Your text is analyzed entirely in the browser. Nothing is transmitted.

Log Data

Like every website, our server records standard HTTP access logs: IP address, user agent string, requested URL, HTTP method, timestamp, and response code. These logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days and are used only to diagnose technical issues or investigate abuse patterns. Log data is not shared with third parties.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. This means we can see aggregate statistics (page views, which tools are popular, traffic sources) but cannot identify individual users by IP address. We do not use remarketing lists, demographic targeting, or cross-site tracking features.

Cookies

Our own tools set no tracking or advertising cookies. We use only session-essential cookies (if any) for technical functionality. Third-party services that may set cookies include:

  • Google Analytics — sets a _ga cookie for anonymous usage measurement. Expires after 2 years.
  • Google AdSense (if enabled) — may set cookies to serve relevant advertisements and measure their performance. These are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

You can control or block cookies in your browser settings. Disabling Google Analytics cookies will not affect tool functionality.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service: Processing your uploaded files to produce the requested output (merge, compress, convert, etc.).
  • Site improvement: Understanding aggregate usage patterns to improve tool performance, fix bugs, and prioritize new features.
  • Security: Detecting and blocking abusive requests, excessive uploads, or potential attacks.
  • Legal compliance: Complying with applicable laws if legally required to respond to law enforcement requests (though we have minimal data to provide).

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, sale to data brokers, or any purpose beyond those listed above.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third party. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Legal obligation: If required by law, court order, or government authority in India or under applicable international agreements. We have no data on file contents — only server logs.
  • Business transition: If BestToolHub is acquired or merged, user privacy commitments will be transferred to and honoured by the new entity.

The following third-party services operate independently under their own privacy policies:

Data Retention

  • Uploaded files: Deleted immediately upon download completion or after processing. No retention period — instant deletion is the design.
  • Server access logs: Retained for up to 30 days, then automatically overwritten.
  • Analytics data: Retained by Google Analytics per their data retention settings (26 months by default). This is aggregate, anonymized data only.

Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the integrity of our service:

  • All file uploads occur over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) — data is encrypted in transit.
  • Uploaded files are stored in a non-web-accessible directory with strict file type validation.
  • Our server runs updated software with security patches applied promptly.
  • The uploads directory is protected by a .htaccess file that prevents direct browser access.

No system is perfectly secure. However, because we delete files immediately after processing, the window of exposure is minimized to the seconds between upload and download.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have specific legal rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: Request what personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data. Because we delete files immediately and log data is minimal, there is generally nothing remaining to delete.
  • Right to data portability: Receive your personal data in a portable format.
  • Right to object: Object to processing of your data for analytics purposes.
  • Right to opt-out of sale (CCPA): We do not sell personal data. This right is automatically exercised.

Children's Privacy

BestToolHub is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete any such data promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes that significantly affect your rights, we will post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
